Sarah Shealy, RN, MSN, CNM, MSCP
Â
Designer of the Meno Learning Lab, Sarah Shealy RN, MSN, CNM, MSCP is a menopause specialist, postnatal recovery specialist, nurse midwife, experienced academic, and mother of daughters. Sarah has dedicated her 30-year career to supporting women and families. Her personal journey through perimenopause inspired her to focus on educating and empowering women to navigate midlife with confidence and knowledge. Sarah's extensive teaching experience and deep curiosity about cognitive science and rites of passage led her to design these educational offerings to empower and inform. Learning is a social activity and knowledge is power.

Kirsten Bergren Ph.D, MSN, FNP, MSCP

Dr. Berggren is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, a Nurse Practitioner and educator within the Department of Family Medicine with the UVM Health Network. Dr. Berggren earned her Doctorate in Anatomy and Neurobiology in 2000 from UVM. She then worked for the Vermont Department of Health, providing breastfeeding education to pediatric practices in Vermont, writing community education materials, and developing legislation to protect breastfeeding mothers in the workplace. As an invited speaker, she educated lactation consultants at conferences around the country. She was a Lecturer for the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences, teaching Pathophysiology and Gross Anatomy prior to earning her MSN.
Since joining UVM in 2013 Dr. Berggren has focused primarily on clinical practice but has continued with her educational pursuits as well. She has been an invited faculty member of the Family Medicine Review Course for the past 10 years, with strong skills in clarity of presentation and audience engagement. She became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner in 2025. She brings her years of teaching experience to the Meno Learning Lab lectures, providing evidence-based information and practice guidelines in a clearly explained engaging format.Â
